Kaipatiki Project Environment Centre

The Kaipatiki Project Environment Centre exists to connect people to the environment and inspire communities to live more sustainably.

We do this through:

volunteering opportunities - groups, businesses or individuals can help to look after our plant nursery in Birkdale, or protect native bush in parks and reserves around Glenfield on Auckland's North Shore.

education and hands-on learning - we offer a wide range of courses and workshops Auckland-wide that promote healthy living, waste minimisation and an enjoyment of the outdoors.

sharing our knowledge with property-owners - our restoration team provides professional advice and consultancy services to residents living near streams, native bush, parks and reserves (under contract to Auckland Council)

Kaipatiki Project was started in 1998 by a handful of neighbours in Birkdale - we are now one of Auckland's most active community environmental organisations. Hundreds of volunteers help us each year to grow around 20,000 native trees, and with the community we plant around 15,000 trees annually.

Contact us to learn more about:
- Being a volunteer - either individually, with a community group or with work-mates.
- Educational opportunities for children and adults.
- Supporting us by becoming a member.

Kaipatiki Project is a charitable, not-for-profit organisation. We are able to operate through the generosity of our funders and supporters including the ASB Community Trust, the Ministry for the Environment and Auckland Council.
