Bring together Non-Profits and IT Professionals
Non-Profit Organisations (NPOs) need help with their IT systems and they need YOU! In one weekend, you can make a difference to NPOs by using your IT skills to solve problems or improve their IT systems.
Some of the potential activities you could be doing include: improving websites, optimising the capabilities of CRM or simplifying internal IT applications. Small improvements will make a huge difference.
You'll form a team with other techies, and work with one of these NPOs. The team that brings the most sustainable improvement will be rewarded at the end of the weekend.
This is an opportunity for you to use your skills for public good, and network with like-minded people! We'll give you one weekend to make this world a better place. It’s as simple as that.
- Kiwi Community Assistance will need a simple system to handle online orders.
- Philanthropy New Zealand is looking to simplify and improve its website
- Social Development Partners are wondering what CRM they should take on, and how to get the most of it.
- The Wellington Soup Kitchen needs a small software to track their own activity.
5:30pm-7.30pm: NPOs present their problem. Volunteers pick which project they will work on.
9:00am: Teams start working to solve their NPO’s problems. Mentors will support the teams and help to come up with a solution that could be implemented within the weekend.
12:00pm: Networking lunch and exchange of ideas
5:00pm: End of the first working day. Food and beers, then go home, take a shower - that's the best place to form new ideas!
9:00am: Let's start the second day!
12:00pm: Networking lunch
4:00pm: Stop! Presentation of the improvements to a jury panel. We seek the biggest sustainable impact.
5:30pm: Food and beers for the brave.
See you there!
