New Zealand is a land full of product innovators: from Norma McCulloch's Breath of Life Resuscitator, to Peter Beck's Rutherford Liquid Engine and Ayla Hutchinson's Kindling Cracker. Forged from a pioneering history where innovation was key to survival, this country contains some of the world’s most independent, forward-thinking minds.
Our experience with a number of New Zealand’s most exciting manufacturers shows us that despite their diversity of products and markets, many of these firms face surprisingly similar challenges and barriers to growth. Despite our ingenuity, our problems are often more deeply connected than our responses.
Velox Innovation, with support from Callaghan Innovation and PDMA-NZ, are developing the Innovation Skills initiative - high impact sessions where the nation’s top product development practioners can collaborate and share knowledge about specific product and commercialisation barriers. CEO's, engineers, entrepreneurs, managers and domain experts
We are specifically looking for real practitioners for this initiative - product managers, engineers, CEO's, industrial designers and entrepreneurs developing high value products and services. Is this you?
These discussions are being held across New Zealand, and will use the popular 'fishbowl' format to maximise the diversity of participants whilst maintaining the focus on tangible learnings and actionable outcomes. News and information from the various sessions is available through our Innovation Skills Linkedin group, with a dedicated platform being rolled out in the near future.
Benefits of involvement are many: insights regarding complex problems, information shared about the newest trends and methodologies, access to national and global experts, and networking with a diverse group of innovators.
Please help us shape the direction of this initiative, and join our discussion on the future of product innovation in New Zealand.
