Event Details

Workshop to empower and inform parents and dyslexic kids.

This workshop is designed for parents to attend with or without their dyslexic children/teens. Children must be accompanied by their parents.

Matt Strawbridge, Founder of Dyslexia Potential Website.

Matt has spent the last 3 years empowering and inspiring dyslexic kids. He has had leadership and empowerment training in San Diego and Australia. He is a year 11 student at Scots College in Wellington.


Cheryl Strawbridge, Strategic intervention life coach and mother of two dyslexic sons. Matt has asked Cheryl to share her story of growing up with a dyslexic brother and the rewards and challenges of being a parent of two dyslexic sons.


Matt will share his experience of growing up with dyslexia. He will arm you with strategies to make life easier for you and your children.

He will run through various role plays and share strategies based around the following topics

-Understanding dyslexia

-Asking for help

-Creative ways of learning


-Using dyslexic strengths (Superpowers) to overcome challenges

-Improving self-esteem.

- What parents can do to help.

- How to motivate your child to learn.

Matt Strawbridge

Matt is a coach, mentor and entrepreneur. Matt runs nationwide empowerment events. At 13 he founded Dyslexia potential a website based company designed to empower and enrich the lives of Dyslexic children. Matt is also a co-founder of TutorBook, a tutoring company that connects NZ school children in need of academic support with NZ university students.
Matt recently completed a summer internship with Xero , where he learnt first-hand how a successful global company operates.

He regularly attends international coaching, business and empowerment training.

Matt is compassionate, driven and expects the best out of life for himself and everyone he has the opportunity to work with.
