For our first global theme of 2013 "Happiness," we're excited to have Running with Scissors share with us their story, learnings and creative insights on Friday 18 January.

In 2009 Running with Scissors celebrated its first anniversary with a “What colour is your happiness” party. Three and half years later they continue to find enjoyment through imagination, diversity and belief. Founders Friday O’Flaherty and Andy Mitchell will talk with us about finding happiness through the democratisation of creativity.

Running with Scissors is an advertising and innovation agency that believes anything is possible. As well as creating advertising they apply imagination in areas that don’t usually get creative attention.

SPEAKERS BIO

Friday founded the agency with Andy. He is skilled at taking the thread of a concept and turning it into a fully fledged garment. He lives to make a difference and his constant curiosity and penchant to question coaxes out good ideas that have been cleverly hidden. Friday has local and international experience, working in marketing client side and across multiple sectors in both graphic design and advertising. He also worked as an Air Traffic Controller, which probably explains his acute attention to detail.

Andy founded the agency with Friday. He’s fond of function and happiest when the world is logically expressed in a nice chart. He’s got a hardcore marketing background in the UK and NZ, working deeply in Field Marketing, Experience Marketing, Retail Marketing and Sales Promotion.

JANUARY = HAPPINESS

We’re excited to announce that CreativeMornings will be hosting unified themes across our 40+ chapters starting in 2013.

This month, over 5,000 attendees will meet up at CreativeMornings events on six continents for speakers that relate to our January theme, “Happiness” brought to you by MailChimp.

Through these themes, we hope to stir up a global conversation among our fantastic, local creative communities. Themes for future months will be announced later on in the new year.

ABOUT CREATIVEMORNINGS

CreativeMornings is a free monthly morning gathering for creative types. Each event includes a 20 minute lecture, followed by a short group discussion. The Auckland gathering begins at 8:00am with the topic presentation starting at 8:30am and everyone taking off for work by 9-9:30am.
