FAQ's about non-USD credit card processing

Note

1

How much does it cost to use credit card processing?

By default, we charge a small fee to your customers, or you can choose to absorb this fee yourself. The credit card processing fee for non-USD events is 3.5%, which is in addition to the Eventbrite fee. Here is the Eventbrite fee for tickets priced in currencies other than U.S. dollars:

Currency Fee Max Fee
Euros 2.5% + €0.75 €7.50
Pounds Sterling 2.5% + £0.65 £6.50
Australian Dollars 2.5% + AU$0.99 AU$9.95
Canadian Dollars 2.5% + C$0.99 C$9.95
New Zealand Dollars 2.5% + NZ$1.50 C$15.00

So, to recap, if you use credit card processing, the total per-ticket cost to your attendee (or to you, if you so choose) is 3.5% + the Eventbrite fee for your particular currency.

Note

Note: We regret that currently we cannot issue payouts to banks located in Italy or Portugal, though we're actively working to provide this level of support in the future. In the meantime, we suggest PayPal as an alternative to Eventbrite's credit card processing.

How do I receive my money if I use credit card processing?

After your event, Eventbrite will send you a confirmation email with the details of your event revenue and pay out information. You have 96 hours (four days) from the end of your event to process any refunds and make any adjustments. On the fifth business day after the end date of your event--which you set in Step 4 of the Edit page--Eventbrite will issue a bank transfer to your account for your total event revenue (less Eventbrite and credit card processing fees). Bank transfers can take up to five business days to appear in your account, depending on your bank.

3

Can I change the payment processing method at any time?

After ticket sales have started on an event, you cannot change the payment processing method. However, you can change it at any time during the setup of your event, and you can use a different method for each event you host. Learn more about how to change your payment processing method here.

4

How are refunds processed with credit card processing?

You can refund your guests directly through your Eventbrite account, as long as the payout for your event has not yet been processed and sent by us.

Find step-by-step instructions on how to process refunds here.
