How to collect donations online using Eventbrite
Want to collect donations on your event page? Need a way to let your attendees decide how much they'd like to pay to attend? Here's how to collect donations online using Eventbrite!
Tip: Click here to check out a sample event page with a donation ticket type!
To get started collecting donations, first create sign up or log in to Eventbrite and create an event. In Step 2: Add Ticket Information of the Edit or Create an Event page for your event, click the button that says Create a Ticket.

Note: If you have already created a ticket type, either on the Create an Event page or the Edit page for your already created event, the button referenced above will instead say Add a New Ticket.
Enter the Ticket Name and Quantity Available. Then select Donation Format for the Price option.

You can also edit a number of additional options--which are accessed by clicking Show next to Advanced options--and then click Save:
- Start Sales: You can choose to start the sales of this ticket type at a particular date/time, an amount of time before the event starts, or when sales end for another of your ticket types (if you have created more than one ticket type).
- End Sales: You can choose to end the sales of this ticket type at a particular date/time or an amount of time before the event starts.
- Ticket Description: Enter more details about the ticket type here. What you enter will appear as smaller text below the name of your ticket type on the event page. You have the option to auto-hide this text, so that an attendee must click more info in order to view it.
- Service Fee: Adjust how you want to handle any fees. (The default in Eventbrite is to add the fee on top of what the attendee is donating, though you change this setting.) Learn more about this here.

When registering, the ticket buyer will have the option of donating a self-designated amount rather than paying a set ticket price.

Note: When an attendee makes a donation on your page, an order confirmation email will be sent to them, as with any other non-donation-type ticket order. At this time, each donation will count as one attendee. If you wish to give the donor the option of registering addition attendee(s), consider creating another, free ticket type called "Extra Guests."

How to collect donations online using Eventbrite
Want to collect donations on your event page? Are you looking for a way to let your attendees decide how much they'd like to pay to attend? Here’s how to collect donations online using Eventbrite!
Tip: Click here to check out a sample event page with a donation ticket type!
To get started, first sign up for a free Eventbrite account or log in to your existing Eventbrite account and create an event.
If you’d like to edit an already-created event, click My Events at the top of the screen and then click on Edit to the right of your event’s name.

In Step 2: Create Tickets, select Donation from the Add Ticket Type dropdown menu. You can set the Ticket Quantity for this type of ticket, which will control how many individual donations you will be able to accept. Or you can leave this field blank to collect an unlimited number of donations.

You can also edit a number of additional options, which are accessed by clicking Settings for this ticket type:

- Ticket Description: Enter more details about this ticket type here. You could include a suggested minimum (or maximum) donation, or tell what donated funds will be used for. What you enter will appear as smaller text below the name of your ticket type on your event page. You have the option to Hide the description on your event page, so that an attendee must click the more info link to view the description.
- Service Fees: Choose how you want to handle any fees. For donation ticket types, we recommend selecting Absorb the fees into the ticket price, so that the attendee donating is charged exactly the amount they choose when registering. Learn more here about how and why to choose who pays the fees.
To take a look at how your event page looks with your new donation ticket type, click Preview & Appearance in the upper left. Once you’ve finished creating your ticket type, make sure to click Save to save your changes or Make Event Live to publish your event page.
Now that you’ve set up a donation ticket type, an attendee will have the option of donating a self-designated amount rather than paying a set ticket price when registering.

Note: When an attendee makes a donation on your event page, an order confirmation email will be sent to them, as with any other non-donation-ticket-type order. Each donation will count as one attendee. If you wish to give the donor the option of registering additional attendee(s), consider creating a free ticket type called "Extra Guests."
