A poetry slam is a night of competitive performance poetry. This is the first of two qualifying slams! There is a two-knockout round with the top poets heading to the finals. Poems are scored by random audience judges who are selected by the MC on the night.
While it may sound scary, slam is just an excuse for poets to get together and work on their craft - in the name of friendly competition!
If you want to share a poem but don't want to compete, there is a short open mic at the start of every slam which anyone can participate in.
Sign up is on the night but spaces are limited!
This is an all ages event but 18+ to slam.
