Since COVID-19, remote working arrangements have transformed workplaces.

A distributed workforce improves staff productivity, work life balance, and job satisfaction – while saving employers costs and attracting global expertise.

Despite the benefits, remote working arrangements have proven challenging for workers and employers alike. Many workers struggled during the lockdowns, with technology issues and a lack of support and collaboration with colleagues.

Identify the challenges of managing a distributed workforce, so you can prepare business for the future. Find out how to protect privacy and confidentiality and use technology effectively to enhance remote working.

In this virtual course, find out how to successfully adapt your business to become a distributed workforce. We will explore successful case studies of distributed workforces and remote working arrangements in NZ and overseas.

Discover several types of distributed workforce: working from home, decentralised offices, distributed teams, working from anywhere, and collaborative business hubs.

Discover how to effectively communicate, collaborate and support your distributed team. Discuss in small groups the best ways to lead a distributed workforce. There will also be opportunities for attendees to share their own experiences on managing remote workers.

Our employment lawyer Julia Shallcrass will inform on employment law obligations for your distributed workforce. Find out how to consult with staff about working from home, manage health and safety obligations, and create workplace policies for best practice.

Consider what to include in working from home agreements, how to have robust discussions with staff, and the benefits of a trial.

This half day course is essential for any business seeking to overcome the challenges of a distributed workforce.

Attendees will receive a digital workbook including activities and can ask questions virtually during the live seminar. This course involves Q&A and activities for you to discuss in small groups.
