About this event

Manukau Institute of Technology will be running our 2021 Career Fest to help you become job ready, if this is what you need, come and join us!

What is Career Fest?

Career Fest is a 3 weeks programme run by MIT Careers and Employment Solutions Team (CES) to help MIT students toward job readiness, the first week will be about running online workshops to help students with CV, CL, job hunting strategies etc. and then followed by self-preparation, Career Consulting support, as well as industry engagement which include meet up with employers to have panel discussion and job fairs.

Check out our website www.manukau.ac.nz/careerfest for full programme agenda.

With an estimate of only 20% of available jobs getting to the advertised market, strong competition amongst employers and a very competitive job market, job seekers are required to be savvy when it comes to standing out and succeeding.

In this "Explore the hidden job markets" session, Greg will proved insights, some tips, techniques and guidance on how to approach the job market and search successfully.

It will be delivered by Greg McAllister - Head of HR Consulting and General Manager Christchurch of OCG Consulting part of the Chandler Macleod Group Australia.

Greg brings the experience of over 25 years in human resource management and line management across a variety of sectors including Banking and Finance, Investments, Telecommunications, Health and Consulting. He has worked as an HR consultant and the early part of his career (and his Master's Thesis) was in career management and outplacement consulting. Prior to joining OCG he worked for a leading NZ Bank as General Manager Human Resources, Head of its Investments and KiwiSaver business and its Regional Relationship Banking teams. He is an avid long distance cyclist and in 2022 plans to ride the length of NZ in the Tour Aotearoa to fundraise for Heart Kids NZ.

If this sounds like what you need, register today to secure your spot.
