Tāngata whai ora, you are invited to this summit, which is an opportunity for people and whānau with lived and living experience to: connect with each other, reflect on what our health needs are, and provide feedback into the health system. The day will be about improving our health, promoting healthy whānau, healthy environments and healthy people.
Organisations in the sector will be invited to support tāngata whaiora to attend. For those who are not affiliated to an organisation, attendance will be free of charge, and where possible support will be provided to enable you to attend. However, places will be limited in order to ensure diversity of people and experiences.
The beginning of the day will also oversee the blessing and launch of the new ingoa māori for the NZ Drug Foundation, which has been developed by esteemed linguist, Keri Opai. (Te Atiawa, Ngāti Ruanui, Ngāti Te Ata, Waiohua, Ngāti Porou) We are excited to share our new name with you, which will sit alongside our existing English name, and will also provide Aotearoa with new, destigmatising kupu.
