About this event

The aim of Tapasā is to build a confident, culturally competent education work force which is able to engage successfully with Pacific learners.

This workshop will assist you to:

• Understand Tapasā’s background and its relevance for you as a teacher

• Develop a quality and empowering learning environment for Pacific learners

• Have a strong understanding of both your own and your learners’ identities, languages and cultures

• Improve learning outcomes for Pacific learners, their parents, families and communities

• Apply the lens of Tapasā to the Standards of the Teaching Profession and the Code of Professional Responsibility

You are encouraged to bring the following if you have them available:

• Tapasā: Cultural competencies framework for teachers of Pacific learners

• Our Code, Our Standards

• Your school/service Quality Practice Template (if you have begun or completed any work on this)

• Your school/service mission statement

A snack, such as nuts and energy balls will be provided.

Please note that workshop space is limited, and places will be confirmed in the order that Eventbrite registrations are completed.
