A five day workshop as part of Summer School 2017
Explore and experiment with colour and techniques in this workshop of abstract paint immersion. Participants will learn about paint manipulation through pouring, blistering, carving and chemical reactions, with the aim of up-cycling or embellishing a piece of furniture, whilst also creating a series of paintings over the course of the five days.
About Elena-Jean Scott:
Elena’s work is a colourful and expressive exploration of the physicality of painting. Her immersion into the art world has earned her a Bachelors of Visual Arts (MVA) from The University of Auckland and a practice that investigates themes around the extension of painting beyond the traditional surface and into the realms of other art forms such as sculpture, installation and assemblage. Her passion for taking painting beyond the traditional is well known from her iconic furniture paintings made from large scale ‘paint skins’ which are then upholstered onto furniture.
