Calling all current students!
Whether you live in Accommodation already or not, join us for free kai, games and tours at our self-catered residences.
The following properties will open their doors on Saturday 9 August:
- 55 Symonds: 53-55 Symonds Street
- Te Tirohanga o te Tōangaroa: 128 Anzac Ave
- Stuart McCutcheon House: 28-38 Stanley Street
- Carlaw Park Student Village: 19-26 Nicholls Lane
- University Hall Apartments: 14 Whitaker Place
Each residence will offer a chance to chat with Resident Advisers and staff about life in our Self-Catered Residences. You'll be able to join guided tours to see the private and common spaces. If you've already seen inside the property, you're welcome to attend without going on a tour.
Feel free to visit all or one of the residences in the order that suits you best.

Note that you must be a University of Auckland student to win.

Frequently asked questions
Any current University of Auckland student can attend! In 2026 you must plan to be an Undergraduate (second year or above), Postgraduate, or PhD student.
First-year students can't live in these properties. But don't worry, you're welcome to come tour our catered halls on 30 August. To attend, please register for Mānawa Mai Open Day at https://www.auckland.ac.nz/en/manawa-mai/open-day.html
Register and simply show up on the day! We will be open from 12-3pm. Walk up to any of the properties listed above and our staff will guide you to the food and game areas, as well as let you know how to join the tours.
Each property will have QR codes where you can check in to register your attendance. Simply fill out the form and then complete your application to live with us next year by 30 September. We'll cross-reference the two lists and select eligible winners randomly.
Absolutely! You are not obligated to submit an application by attending this event. This is just a chance for you to come visit the places and see if you like them.
