Event description

Description

In 2018, New Zealand and the UK are celebrating 125 and 100 years respectively of Women's suffrage. These milestones highlight how far we've come as nations.

Last week, the NZ Government launched an Action Plan to eliminate the public sector gender pay gap. This illustrates that there is more to do, including correcting the under-representation of Women in STEM sectors.

The British High Commission and the Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians NZ Group invite you to join us for an interactive panel discussion on gender balance in STEM sectors, followed by drinks and nibbles.

Our panel:

  • Hon Dr Megan Woods, Minister of Research, Science and Innovation

  • Professor Juliet Gerrard, Chief Science Advisor; and

  • Mr Andrew Hampton, Director-General, GCSB.

MC: Melissa Clark-Reynolds, Digital Strategist, Director and Entrepreneur

When: 5:00pm - 6:45pm, Thursday 6 September 2018

Where: Beehive Theaterette and West Foyer, Parliament Buildings, Wellington

Please register Here to join us for this interactive panel discussion, and please share this invitation with interested colleagues. Places at this event are limited.

NOTE: We strongly recommend you arrive at Parliament at 4.45pm, to pass through security.
