About this event

As influencer advertising continues to grow across social media platforms, it’s more important than ever for creators and brands to ensure paid promotions are clearly distinguished from organic content.

Join ASA Chief Executive Hilary Souter in this live webinar to learn about:

  • Ad identification – learn the essentials of how to clearly disclose advertising content and ensure it's obvious to your followers when you are posting paid content.
  • What counts as an ad? Get clarity on what types of influencer and content creator activities count as advertising according to the ASA definition of advertising, and what that means for your content planning.
  • Key considerations for high-standard sectors – recap on your responsibilities when promoting products in regulated sectors such as alcohol, gambling, and therapeutic products and services, where higher advertising standards apply.
  • Are you an advertiser collaborating with influencers? Your brand is equally responsible for any paid content posted by an influencer, regardless of if you had a say in the final post. Hilary will take you through how to protect your brand and best practice for briefing influencers on ad standards.

Are you a member? If you are a member or employee of an ASA member organisation such as ANZA, Marketing Association, or the Commercial Communications Council, or a media platform, you may be eligible to attend this webinar for free. Contact us at communications@asa.co.nz for more information.
