Description

What's In It For Me:

The technology industry started the wide use of Agile practices in business. As its benefits became evident, the practices spread widely across other industries. Our workshop, "Agile and Scrum - Beyond Technology" focuses on core concepts of Agile and demonstrates the potential of using the practices in both professional and personal endeavours for better outcomes.

Currently there is a high demand for Agile capable individuals in the market; if you acquire the Agile skills and are at the right place at the right time, the opportunities can be immense.

Note: The course is free for all Toastmasters and the general public. The "Scrum Master Certification" exam, which is optional, is free only for Toastmasters. Non-Toastmasters can join Agile Toastmasters club to complete the "Scrum Master Certification" exam.

Course Overview:

This course is organised by the Agile Toastmasters club of Wellington. The Agile Toastmasters Club focuses on development of Agile capabilities in addition to leadership and communication skills which the Toastmasters organisation primarily focus on. As a means of increasing the skill levels of its member and the general public, the club organises training workshops as required.

Many large organisation, government agencies, banks and insurance companies have recently made headlines announcing their Agile transformation efforts. The increasing demands of modern, dynamic organisations are fuelling the need for Agile practices. Agile practices are widely known to deliver visible results faster, add value continuously, and result in higher quality outcomes than those delivered via strictly regimented, traditional approaches. By attending this course, you are likely to help your organisation grow faster using Agile approaches and/or use practices for your personal growth and development.

This unique workshop combines training in Agile and Scrum with emphasis on understanding of Agile mindset. The training will enhance participants' knowledge and give confidence to take charge as Scrum Master in projects run in Agile environments! The specially designed simulated exercise will help participants to extract core principles of Agile and Scrum and apply then in a generic situation to practice Agile delivery (The exercise is interactive and will involve role play)

The workshop is led by professionals who has been training and coaching individuals and organisations, and have been involved in transforming organisations into adopting Agile practices.
