About the Speaker: Eteroa Lafaele
A globally recognised Samoan leader and changemaker, Eteroa Lefaele has led groundbreaking initiatives to amplify Pacific voices in the tech sector.
Eteroa is a Software Engineer and Director of Fibre Fale, Founder of DigiTautua and a Developer Evangelist.
Hailing from the beautiful islands of Samoa. Her villages are Fogapoa, Leulumoega Tuai and Lefaga. She was born and bred in Cannons Creek, Porirua. Eteroa has always had a passion to serve.
This service birthed an initiative called DigiTautua, where Eteroa and the team refurbished and fundraised for devices to help bridge the digital divide.
Eteroa was named Young New Zealander of the Year 2025 for her work in bridging the digital divide for Pacific communities. This latest recognition for her important work follows other prestigious accolades that include the Young IT Professional of the Year, the NZ Hi-Tech Young Achiever Award and being named in the prestigious Forbes 30 Under 30 – Asia – Social Impact.
