About this event

Amaru Tribe release their new single ‘Canto a Bachue’ (Trans: Chant for Bachué) with a beautiful animated video by Colombian animator ‘Melanconnie’ in collaboration with Katherine Gailer (Artistic Direction and character design)

To celebrate this new release, Amaru Tribe will offer a electro acoustic performance together with interdisciplinary and multisensorial experience at No Vacancy Gallery on the 26th of JUNE.

Joining them will be a troupe of artists and collaborators including: Queen of Hearts Mariachi, Ethnologic Dance Co., Lucy Lucy (Interactive Installation), DJ Deams plus live visuals by Simbiotic Vision

In addition, El Toucan Café, will be offering a delicious traditional Colombian plate (Vegetarian option available) for a full dinner and show experience. Bookings details below

A special night to create union and a ritualistic experience to honour mother nature, our ancestors and the resilient quality of life.

This is a one off event with a limited capacity so we recommend to make early bookings.

In bands’s own words: " 'Canto A Bachué' is inspired by an encounter with mythological **Muisca goddess Bachué. Together with Melanconnie we created an animation that speaks to the audience about the powerful spirit of mother nature and the need to reconnect to those stories and myths that we inherited from our ancestors to reconnect to the land and restore the invisible fabric that weaves together humans and nature"

** Muisca: indigenous people from Colombia.

All of this wouldn’t have been possible without the support from Melbourne City council which allowed for the initial creative development of this project and additional support by Creative Victoria.
