This 2 session cookery program is for APODC DHH youth members, aged 10yrs and up. We will make a family meal, & bake whilst learning NZSL!

About this Event

This 2 session program is for Deaf, and HOH youth ages 10yrs and up. FREE to those with a current Auckland Parents of Deaf Children Membership.

PLEASE book in for both sessions if your young person is available.

The sessions will take place at the new Auckland Deaf Society premises in Hillsborough, starting at 1pm, and finishing at 2.30pm.

You don't need to know any NZSL to participate in this course, however we will be learning some as we get creative in the kitchen.

In session 1, you will learn how to cook a main meal.

In session 2, you will get to bake some sweet treats.

2 interpreters will be supporting these sessions, which are being taught by experienced tutors from Little Cooks. We will also have several older Deaf youth who will work alongside a group of 4 APODC youth, to support youth to learn some signs in context.

Little Cooks provides the ingredients and utensils, so you only need bring yourselves.

An APODC host will also be there to help out.
