About this event

Come along to The Dowse for a free day of art and play with activities for all ages – from toddlers to teens to grownups. Art Play Day takes over the museum, turning it into a creative playground of hands-on fun. Bring the whole whānau and get your craft on at The Dowse from 12.30pm – 3.30pm, Saturday 29 January.

All Day Activities:

- Clay and kinetic sand play

- Weaving

- Bubble blowing and chalk art

- Hut making and The Imagination Playground

- Draw patterns and create rubbings inspired by Nuku Tewhatewha

Artist Workshops:

- Create your own colourful light collages with artist Gabby O'Connor

- Join artist Martin Awa Clarke Langdon to build a stop motion landscape

It’ll be a free day of fun, creativity, exploration, making, imagination and art. We hope to see you there!
