Join us to hear top tips on how to avoid redundancy pitfalls and minimise your legal risks and keep the restructuring process on track in a COVID-19 climate.

This will be a practical session delivered by Duncan Cotterill covering the following:

• Getting your business case right

• Consultation requirements

• Selection criteria and redeployment obligations

• Legal/business impact if process goes wrong

• Common mistakes

• Specific Covid-19 considerations

The session will include consideration of fictional scenarios to promote discussion and sharing of ideas. For those who attend in-person, this will be an informal opportunity to interact with fellow HR practitioners.

About our Presenter Matthew Hutcheson, Duncan Cotterill

Matt is a Senior Solicitor in the Employment and Health and Safety team at Duncan Cotterill. He has extensive experience advising on, and advocating in, disputes as a general litigator. Matt has represented clients in various Tribunals, Authorities, and Courts in a range of criminal, civil, employment, regulatory and health and safety matters. For the past 2 years, Matt has been practicing as an employment and health and safety specialist.

As Matt predominantly assists businesses, he understands their needs and works alongside them in order to achieve a commercially viable outcome. He assists with all employment law issues, from front-end guidance, to dispute resolution and advocacy. Matt also assists clients with all matters relating to health and safety, including providing regulatory advice, developing hazard management systems, and representing clients in WorkSafe investigations and prosecutions.

Payment

Fees will be due for payment in full for each branch event, and are non-refundable unless cancellation has been confirmed by email to branchevents@hrnz.org.nz at least two working days before the event.

Cancellations and Refunds

To receive a full refund cancellations must be received by HRNZ by email to branchevents@hrnz.org.nz two working days before the day of the event.

Cancellations after this time and/or 'no shows' on the day will be payable in full.
