Auckland YEPN - The Role of Gas in a Decarbonising Economy

Chapman Tripp and the Young Energy Professionals Network are excited to host the next YEPN event of the year in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland!

Join us as we delve into the role of gas in Aotearoa New Zealand's energy transition. Gas has been a topical subject of late and we're excited to be able to discuss some of the challenges and opportunities with a panel of experts!

We'll be covering topics such as the role of gas today, implications of the Budget 2025, security of supply issues as availability declines, and other alternatives to gas e.g biomethane and the hydrogen economy.

Bring your questions and take advantage of having energy leaders in the room:

  • Insa Errey - Senior Manager Future Fuels, Genesis Energy
  • Simon Peart - Competition and Regulatory Partner, Chapman Tripp
  • Lauren Curtayne - Corporate Partner, Head of Energy, Chapman Tripp

As always, there'll be plenty of time to network and connect with other YEPs across Tāmaki Makaurau. Don't miss out!

Got a question about gas in New Zealand? Send them to yepn@bec.org.nz and we'll ask the panel!

When: Wednesday 16 July

Doors open from 5pm, panel starts from 5:30pm.
