Join NZ Barok to hear the story of Ruby May and her little brother Tamati, two tamariki with big imaginations. Introduce the children in your lives to the beautiful sounds of baroque music! Wave a scarf to a minuet, shake a shaker to a march and enjoy a happy music-filled hour. This concert is most suitable for children aged 0-6 years. Book your free tickets today!

Frequently asked questions

How will my child participate in the concert?

Children get to wave scarves, march, shake shakers, sing and dance. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to take part too. After the concert children can try playing smaller violins & cellos and get up close to the recorder, trumpet, bassoon, double bass and percussion to listen and ask questions.

Can I bring a baby into the space in a stroller or car seat?

If the event is booked out there will be a staff member looking after strollers just outside the venue door. If there is room you will be able to take them in for babies and toddlers.

If I am unable to attend can I cancel my tickets?

Yes you can, either by going into the Eventbrite booking and cancelling or by emailing us at contact@nzbarok.org.nz . Then we can make them available to anyone on the waiting list.

Do I need to book free tickets for adults only or for my children as well?

You need to book tickets for everyone attending, adults and children.

What instruments will be played in the concert?

Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Recorder, Oboe, Trumpet, Bassoon and Percussion

Is the concert seated and do we have specific seats?

There is a limited amount of seating for those unable to sit on the floor. The majority of those attending will sit on the floor. The audience can choose where they sit. There is no allocated seating. If you would like to bring a cushion please do.
