Basejump Comedy | Sketch 101
Event Information
About this Event
Sketch 101 is an introduction to the basics of comedic writing, over the course of 8 sessions, where you'll learn skills and methods used by modern comedy writers to discover and explore YOUR funny ideas.
Whether you're a comedian wanting to hone a new skill or a beginner looking to learn more about comedy theory, this course is designed to take you through a variety of sketch types (character-based, parody, satire, etc.), and give you different techniques to draw comedy out from the page.
Each week you'll engage in a new sketch assignment and receive feedback on sketches, ensuring you leave class with a portfolio of writing and a great headstart on understanding the foundations of writing comedy.
No prior experience is necessary -- the only requirement for this class is a desire to write and learn. Students will need to write outside of class, preparing sketches for presentation.
