Description

The Asia New Zealand Foundation recently led a delegation to China to discuss trade and economic issues with Chinese experts. New Zealand experts and commentators stress checked their understanding of developments in the Chinese economy and China’s trade policy priorities – and, of course, the Belt and Road Initiative.

So what did they conclude or observe from their time in China? And what are the implications for New Zealand?

Foundation executive director Simon Draper will chair a panel discussion over breakfast with Stephanie Honey (Associate Director, International Business Forum), Dr Jason Young (Acting Director of NZ Contemporary China Research Centre, Victoria University of Wellington), Derek Gill (Principal Economist, NZIER), Jeremy Rees (Fairfax National Communities Editor), and Sam Sachdeva (Foreign Affairs and Trade Editor, Newsroom). They will be joined by the Foundation’s Chair, Hon John Luxton and Pip McLachlan, Director for Research and Engagement.

Join us for a relaxed discussion over breakfast.
