Live On Stage: Dom Harvey in Conversation

Well-known broadcaster, podcaster, and author Dom Harvey will host a special segment of the evening, interviewing two legends with stories to tell and wisdom to share.

For 20 years Dom was a host on the high rating Edge breakfast show nationwide. 

He hung up his headphones in 2021 to focus on launching his podcast which is now one of the most popular podcasts in New Zealand. 

Outside of talking, he has written three best seller books and ran all 6 of the world's major marathon majors.  In 2018 he used his love of running to raise $250,000 so a young girl could receive a lifesaving cancer procedure in Barcelona.  He did this by running 5 marathons in 5 days.  This feat won him the Sir Paul Holmes Award for NZ broadcaster of the year as well as a Kiwi Bank Local hero medal.

David Buick 

David Buick is a champion shearer and respected Manawatu farmer with a long-standing reputation in New Zealand’s rural community. Known for his precision and dedication in the woolshed, he has earned multiple national titles and is admired for his leadership and work ethic. 

In 2021, David survived a serious farming accident that left him with a broken back. His remarkable recovery and return to competitive shearing is a powerful story of resilience and determination. Today, he’s a passionate advocate for rural wellbeing, encouraging others to stay connected and look after themselves and their mates. 

Dane Coles  

Dane Coles is a retired professional rugby player and one of New Zealand’s most respected and dynamic hookers. Born in Paraparaumu, Coles began his rugby journey with the Poneke Football Club and quickly rose through the ranks to represent Wellington, the Hurricanes, and ultimately the All Blacks. After retiring from professional rugby, he transitioned into coaching, taking up a role with the Wellington Lions to help develop the next generation of talent. 

Off the field, Dane is a proud husband and father of three boys. He remains deeply connected to his roots and is passionate about giving back to the game and community that shaped his career.
