Description

Art History

If one exhibition format has dominated art over the past 30 years, it is the biennial. Biennials are important mainly because of their role as international meeting points in an increasingly dispersed art world; they are stages upon which sprawling, city-wide international exhibitions are seen by vast audiences. Significantly, biennials have also served as launching points for the careers of many working in galleries, museums, conservation, auction houses, journalism and research institutes.
