Bike the Rimutaka Rail Trail

Get on your mountain bike and cycle along the historic Rimutaka Rail Trail down to Cross Creek in the Wairarapa.

It's a gently graded 18km ride where you'll explore restored railway bridges and historic tunnels. Learn more about the unique history of this popular trail.

Bring a pincic lunch for a stop at the Summit (supplemented by a sausage sizzle) where you'll hear from our local historian about the unique history of the trail and the Fell engine.

Note: your ticket covers the cost of transporting people and bikes from the end of the trail back ot Kaitoke. Minimum wheel size of bikes is 20cm. Not suitable for under 8's unless in a bike carrier.
