About this event

  • 1 hour 30 minutes

You are invited to join us for our upcoming Breakfast Series Event on 17 June 2024.

Toby Young, the aging enfant terrible of the British establishment, is touring New Zealand as a guest of the Free Speech Union.

Young is an author, most famous for How to lose Friends and Alienate People, which he wrote in 2003 and proceeded to put his theory into action.

He has been cancelled, rehabilitated, and founded the British Free Speech Union. Now on the margins of respectability again, he is sure to be cancelled again.

Toby will be talking on the power and importance of Free Speech, his own experiences with the limits of speech and the consequences of crossing unseen boundaries of acceptable discourse.

Guests will be treated to a light breakfast and a freshly brewed cup of coffee before sitting down for a brief delivery by Toby Young, which will be followed by a Q&A session overseen by Waterstone’s Damien Grant.
