Business Breakfast: Keith Riley - Kayaking our Untamed Natural Wilderness
Event Information
About this Event
Join local business people for an end of year networking breakfast with an inspirational presentation from Keith Riley, the 2020 recipient of the Tall Totara Award for his significant contribution to Outdoor Education in New Zealand.
Keith has spent most of his adult life enjoying racing fluidly through the mountains. Whether in a kayak, on skis, climbing boots, or a bike, the joy of movement, the unknown of adventure and the aesthetics of the wilderness has him perpetually hooked on exploring remote places. When at home in Hokitika, Keith lives on the doorstep of the Southern Alps, an outstanding and vast playground constantly distracting. Professionally, he enables others to experience a similar philosophy of adventure through instruction and guiding on New Zealand based Outdoor Education programs. Polar tourism has become an extension of his profession, he teaches the skills of exploration to enable people to get the most out of an expedition to the polar regions.
Join Keith as he visually takes you though some outrageous river corridors and explains how a kayak team safely navigates these waterways.
Breakfast is available in the restaurant from 7.30am, Keiths presentation begins at 8.00am in the conference room.
