Manukau Institute of Technology’s TechPark is a brand new, state-of-the-art educational facility that brings together all of the institute’s professional engineering and trade schools under one roof for the first time since Manukau Institute of Technology was founded almost 50 years ago.

TechPark was the Category 1 Winner for New Construction / Entire New Education Facility from a field of 83 entries from across the Asia Pacific at the 13th Annual Learning Environments Australasia Awards last year.

The judges noted that “TechPark is an outstanding example of clarity of educational purpose delivered in the design outcome in context of shifting from traditional spaces and teaching modes to a facility that fully supports the learning future of Engineering and Trades."

Matt Every and John Sofo from ASC Architects together with Pip Schollum-Manase from the TechPark’s senior leadership team will take you through the project, discussing:

• Development journey and narrative

• Consultation and collaboration process and how this was reflected in the design solution

• Learning impact

• Lessons learnt

The speakers will explain how the design of the facility responded to the awards criteria and provide tips on what you need to do for a successful Learning Environment’s award entry.

The online event starts at 5:30pm. Following introductions, the speakers will present their research, after which there will be the opportunity for Q&A.
