Event description
Matariki rises on 3rd July 2021!

About this event

Join us as we Celebrate their cousin, little Puanga whom we can see, rising over Mt Taranaki around the same time.

Matariki and Puanga signify te Tau Hou Māori, the Māori New Year. We invite all Whānau to celebrate with us at Plunket New Plymouth!

On this special night, we will:

- share in kai

- do some Puanga-inspired crafts

- read Matariki and Puanga books

- listen to songs dedicated to Matariki

- learn about each of the stars, and how they relate to our world

- make new friends, and have a very fun time!

You do not have to be registered with Plunket to join in on these festivities. People of all cultures and background are very welcome to come along.

RSVP essential . If you have any questions, please message Taranaki Plunket, or email Plunket Rose on rose.haskell@plunket.org.nz.
