Event description
Chaat translates to lip-smacking. It also means quick snacks. Join our chaat class to learn how to make India's favourite street foods

About this event

If you're new to the delicious world of Indian cuisine, chaat is a great place to start.

Chaat roughly translates to lip-smacking and is often available at every nook and corner of India's streets. While the types of chaat available may differ from state to state, they all share a common combination of sweet, salty, crunchy, spicy and savory ingredients.

Growing up my grandpa went to only one chaat vendor. It was our Thursday evening tradition and the chaat-wala-uncle as I called him already knew what we wanted. He would silently give us a freshly rinsed plate and proceed to give us one pani puri after another. At the end, there was always an extra "sukha puri" to be had to cut through the spices dancing on my tongue.

I remember Grandpa would then hand over a steel container inside which he would fill in sev puri for Granny who liked to eat it on a clean plate at home!

In the class we will learn:

1. Ragda (Chickpea curry)

2. Pani Puri

3. Aloo Tikki

4. Ragda Pattice

Come equipped with snacks because I promise you will get hungry! This is part two of a two-part class.

  • This is a LIVE class and no recording will be available.
  • We believe that cooking Indian food is about trusting all your senses so while we show you how to make it step by step we don't share written recipes (much like our mothers!)
  • You will receive a special code to purchase Dolly Mumma products in this class. This gives you $10 off any purchase making your class free!
