Event description
STEM Networking Event - Chiasma Wellington

About this event

Come along to Synapse, Chiasma's largest annual networking event!

Synapse provides students, academics, and industry members the unique opportunity to engage in an informal setting. The event is headlined by a panel discussion featuring prominent industry leaders focusing on the future of science, technology, and research in New Zealand.

Our confirmed speakers are:

  • Dr. Ipshita Mandal-Johnson, Chiasma alumni, founding partner and CEO of Global Bio Fund
  • Prof. Gary Evans, Chief Science Advisor, MBIE
  • Dr. George Slim, Consultant for Rhadegund Life Sciences
  • Dr. Shalini Divya, co-founder and CEO of TasmanIon

This will be followed by a networking opportunity for students to engage with panel speakers to discuss the talking points, careers or their experience. Industry partners will be hosting booths where attendees can to learn more about the organizations, career opportunities, and STEM industry landscape of the Wellington region.

IMPORTANT COVID-19 UPDATE: This event is currently capped to 100 attendees in adherence of Level 2 restrictions. If Wellington returns to level 3 or higher, the event will be moved online.

Signing in and sanitising hands will be mandatory upon entry. Masks are highly recommended, but not required.

While Chiasma Wellington will do our best to follow guidelines to make this event as safe as possible, we cannot ensure social distancing protocol will be followed at all times. We therefore recommend people who are high risk to consider attending the event online.
