About the Event

The Cure Kids 1000 Charity Challenge is back! After raising over $60,000 for Cure Kids in 2019 and 2020, teams will be back for the third year bravely taking on the rugged landscape of the Mackenzie Country. Traveling roads less chartered and taking in some of the most breath-taking scenery the South Island has to offer, this is not a challenge for the faint-hearted.

Kicking off in Tekapo on Friday the 29th of October 2021, the team will cover some seriously hardy terrain, circling back to Tekapo for the night then on through South Canterbury on the 30th of October, arriving in Christchurch for a much-deserved celebration to acknowledge the amazing efforts of the team and support crew.

The team will cover a total of 1000km in just two days while making themselves known to the local community, visiting schools, and thanking local businesses for their support, while raising awareness of Cure Kids vital child health research.

The Cure Kids 1000 Charity Challenge raises funds for Cure Kids child and adolescent mental health research, all teams entered will help Cure Kids fund research to improve the lives and find better treatments for children suffering from depression, anxiety, PTSD, and other mental health conditions.
