ABOUT CLAUDIA
A third-culture kid raised by a family of artists and art dealers, Claudia Li grew up between cultures and disciplines, developing a deep love for both fashion and painting at an early age. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts before moving to London to study Fashion Design at Central Saint Martins, then to New York to complete her MFA in Fashion Design and Society at Parsons School of Design.
Before launching her eponymous label in New York in 2015, Claudia trained under some of the most influential voices in fashion—working with Brandon Maxwell at Haus of Gaga in New York and as a womenswear designer for JW Anderson in London. Her collections are defined by sculptural silhouettes, bold use of colour, and emotional storytelling—rooted in her fine arts background and an instinctive grasp of form and texture.
Claudia's work has been exhibited at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in In America: A Lexicon of Fashion. She is the recipient of the FGI Rising Star Award, was a U.S. finalist for the International Woolmark Prize, and was named a Forbes 30 Under 30 US honouree in Art & Style in 2017. Her designs have been worn by cultural icons including Michelle Obama, Simone Biles, Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Venus Williams, and Lady Gaga.
Now splitting her time between New York and New Zealand, Claudia continues to build her collections with the support of her atelier in New York City, and in collaboration with some of the best ateliers in Italy and Aotearoa New Zealand.
