Climate Action Countdown: Moving stuff from A to B
Event Information
About this Event
The 2020s must be the decade of climate action. Our climate warming emissions need to be cut by 50% by 2030 in order to contain warming to a safe level.
The good news is there are many solutions available to make this happen. This webinar series features organisations taking climate action by providing and using new technologies and business models.
NZ transport emissions currently make up about 20% of our emissions profile. This includes how we move people and goods. November's event will focus on transporting goods and the low emission options that already exist.
Register for our free webinar to hear from several pioneers in this space, and ask your own questions of the experts.
Speakers include:
- Sam Bridgman – NZ Post Senior Environment Specialist. NZ Post has set up a programme to help its delivery contractors replace their vans with EVs. This will help NZ Post to reach its goal of being carbon neutral by 2030.
- Gavin Smith – Alsco Business & Product Development Manager. Alsco was the first company in NZ to introduce a heavy electric vehicle thanks to EECA’s LEV Fund. The truck has a fully-electric powered system with a range of 200km. Alsco is gaining valuable insights with this new technology.
- Hamish Ludbrook – Findatruckload Brand Manager. Findatruckload connects trucks travelling with empty loads with businesses that have goods for transport. Reducing the number of empty trucks on the road is more efficient and helps reduce emissions.
Learn how you can introduce climate-friendly solutions into your business and make a difference!
This event is part of SBN's Climate Action 20/25 project. The project has been established to make it easier for our smaller businesses to take climate action.
