Description

What is a CNC router?

A CNC router is a computer-controlled machine for cutting and routing in 3D space. It is used to cut and shape 3D objects out of a hard block material. It is an example of subtractive manufacturing.

What can you do with it?

A CNC router can be used for creating more durable prototypes and models out of wood, foam, and MDF. CNC routers machine objects to a very high degree of finishing, meaning items will be true to form. This will typically be used when the user wishes to produce items that are more durable, and of a higher quality than 3D printing.

How to get started:

Only those who have gained access to the Create and Maker Space can attend training sessions. If you haven't already, get involved today!
