In the field of educational coaching, Jan Robertson is a world leader. She’s passionate about engaging educators to work with each other as coaches and mentors, creating deep learning relationships within professional practice. In her professional roles, she is an international leadership consultant, a senior researcher for the Institute of Professional Learning at the University of Waikato, an Adjunct Professor at Griffiths University, and the academic director of the New Zealand Aspiring Principals’ Programme. Jan draws her professional inspiration and energy from the sustainable lifestyle of her Waiheke Island community. Jan’s home overlooks Piritahi Marae. Meaning "together as one” Piritahi also symbolises the true partnership of Māori and Pakeha and is a special place where Jan likes to work and think about her work. She has a strong commitment to honouring New Zealand’s bicultural heritage. Her teaching incorporates the language, photography and concepts grounded in these influences.
