Description

WORLD’S LARGEST POTLUCK LUNCH

This event aims to:

  1. Celebrate the strength and resilience of the average kiwi person in times of adversity.

  2. Bring people together being more connected as a community.

  3. Facilitate and grow connectedness in neighbourhoods.

This is a free community event held in the Christchurch Red Zone, bringing people together and deepen connectedness through home cooked food, and providing the opportunity to heal. This event is the official launch for the Trust, it’s #ComeTogether campaign, and the “Come Together” book.

Five recipes will be released on November 1st and participants of the Potluck are invited to cook one of these five dishes and bring to the Event.

The recipes are:

  • Richie’s Go-to Broccoli Salad

  • Sally’s Mama’s Fried Chicken

  • Shazza’s Go-to Quiche

  • Cypriot Grain Salad

  • Friendship Cake

Going forward, the recipes will be readily available online, along with downloadable resources for holding one’s neighbourhood or community potluck events. This building our ongoing #ComeTogether community sharing projects where people are encouraged to share videos and photos of their own #ComeTogether events, bringing people together through food.
