Consequence Game 4.5 - A Fistful of Scholars

Dear resident of Consequence,

As your Governor, I strive to be a woman of action. I do not linger in melancholy. Yet in reflecting on recent months, I find myself wrestling with anger, betrayal, fear, and perhaps, regret. Even so, determination and hope remain.

Since the Rift closed, we have faced challenges none of us anticipated, and despite our differences we have proven our ability to work together when the stakes demand it. What now confronts us is the most serious threat yet, and so I write to ask for your presence at an evening devoted to planning and solidarity.

Our foremost concern is the conduct of Walter Cain Sr. and what it may mean for us all. I intend for us to share all relevant information and resources so we may understand the situation clearly and determine our next steps. We may need to adapt familiar methods or forge entirely new ones. I believe we can do so if we pool our knowledge.

I have also been approached with an opportunity for us all to safely observe the upcoming Vanguard Partner meeting. This will require a ritual undertaken with Annabelle Johnson. I know this raises valid concerns, but I believe Ms. Johnson is sincere in her intent to stop Walter Cain Sr. Tesla is preparing additional protections, and I welcome any further precautions you feel we should consider. You may contact me directly.

If time allows, we may also address several smaller matters of local importance.

The evening will proceed as follows:

1. A series of brief presentations or discussions to identify problems and propose solutions. restricted to recipients of this letter so that we may discuss matters relating to the locals in confidence if required.
2. Observation of the Vanguard Partner meeting to gather as much information as possible.
3. Cocktails and conversation to continue information-sharing in a more relaxed setting. Additional small matters may be discussed during this time as required.

If you cannot attend, please nominate someone to speak on your behalf.

As well as the main events described above, players have the opportunity to request short scenes that require GM and/or key NPC participation. You'll be asked to let us know if you want one of these scenes and/or if you want to make a presentation when you complete your ticket purchase.

We expect to run to the following timetable:

2-3pm: Set dressing/prep (volunteers needed).
3-5pm: Pre-arranged scenes.
5-5:30pm: Brief OOC dinner break (bring or order your own).
5:30pm: Game start with short IC welcome, followed by commencement of presentations.
10:45pm: Soft game end.
11pm: Hard game in and clean up (all to help unless pre-arranged with GMs)
11:30pm: Everyone needs to be out of the hall.

About the presentations
The intention here is for people to share opinions, knowledge, and come to an agreement on what problems you're trying to solve. This is your opportunity to share or discuss issues with the player base at large to help everyone get on the same page and look for knowledge gaps. We're putting a 10 minute cap on them so we can move things along quickly, but other than that it's up to you how you want to use your time on the stage. For example, the presentations can be:

* Done as a group
* More of a conversation/discussion that you lead
* An opportunity to leve everyone know what skills/abilities you/your group can do.

We encourage you to think about how to make these as interactive as possible.
