Contemporary Tukutuku Workshop

Discover the art of tukutuku in this hands-on weaving workshop. Traditionally adorning the walls of wharenui, tukutuku panels are a treasured Māori artform that weave together stories, whakapapa, and identity.

In this workshop, you will:

  • Learn the foundations of tukutuku weaving
  • Explore contemporary patterns and designs that reflect your own creativity
  • Gain understanding of the tikanga and cultural significance of tukutuku
  • Complete your own small contemporary tukutuku panel to take home

✨ This workshop is suitable for all levels – from beginners to those with raranga experience. You’ll be guided step by step, with space to experiment and bring your own style into the work.

📍 Location: 186 Shaw Avenue, New Brighton

All materials are provided, and numbers are limited to ensure plenty of one-on-one guidance.

Secure your spot and be part of this creative and meaningful wānanga.
