Ignite Breakfast: Business Networking Event
Featuring Jim Little - CEO Tourism West Coast
Our Icons: Tourism Strategy Development as part of the Regional Growth Study
The new tourism strategy will be about increasing number of guest nights, creating regional dispersal during peak periods and promoting the shoulder and low seasons. This will include marketing 4 new icons, Oparara Arches, Lake Brunner, Hokitika Gorge and Haast World Heritage Area to complement Punakaiki Pan Cake Rocks & Blow Holes and the Glaciers/Lake Matheson. More people, more often, staying longer, spending more! Tourism West Coast will also be placing a lot emphasis on defining target markets and categorising these with priorities 1,2 & 3 to ensure key international and domestic markets are communicated with in the most compelling manner. The continued implementation and marketing of the new brand will also be a priority-untamed natural wilderness-as this is the marketing platform or positioning for the future.
Jim’s main purpose in life is to attract more visitors to the West Coast and increasing their length of stay - More Visitors, More Often, Staying Longer Spending More. Plus all the attendant strategising, Trade Show & Industry related visits and local operator liaison required to achieve this. The buck stops here.
