Event description
The Giant Toa Enduro officially kick-starts Crankworx Rotorua 2020, as well as being round one of the EWS Asia/Pacific Continental Series.

About this Event

Rotorua is home to one of New Zealand’s oldest trail networks, which has seen substantial growth in trail development and infrastructure in the most recent years making it an ideal location for enduro riding.

Riders competing in the Giant Toa Enduro presented by Camelbak will get the chance to explore the lush Whakarewarewa Forest and some of the most challenging single track the Southern Hemisphere has to offer.

GIANT TOA ENDURO PRESENTED BY CAMELBAK - 1 MARCH 2020

OFFICIAL TRAINING DAY - 29 FEBRUARY 2020

LONG COURSE (pedalled ) - EWS Continental Series

The Long Course event will consist of 6 stages all taking place in the mighty Whakarewarewa Forest. This event will be Round 1 of the Asia/Pacific Continental Series, meaning racers competing in the event will be eligible to collect EWS Global Ranking points.

Each rider will be pre-assigned with a start time for each of the 6 stages. Time penalties will be applied under certain circumstances, these will be found in the Race Booklet in January 2020.

SHORT COURSE (shuttle assisted)

The Short Course event is every rider’s opportunity to experience the Giant Toa Enduro presented by Camelbak without biting into the full meal deal right out of the gate. The Short Course event will consist of 4-5 stages and will be on grade 3 and 4 trails only.

There will be a significant amount of pedalling required to transition between stages, but there will be shuttle options for selected stages to provide an opportunity for the legs to have a bit of a rest. In this way, this is a "shuttle assisted" race.

Riders will need to complete all 4 race stages within the given time allowance as per Race Booklet. Penalties will be applied for those who fail to return within the time allowance. Race Booklet will be available in January 2020.

REGISTRATION

Registration for all categories opens December 17, 2020 at 10:00am NZDT.
