About the workshop

This workshop is an introduction into Python programming language.

  • Have you never coded before and want to learn? Great!

  • Do you know how to code but want to learn Python? Come along!

  • Maybe you need a refresher on the language? No problem!

Python is a very powerful programming language that is used all the way from beginners learning to code to professionals creating machine learning applications.

Things you can do with Python:

  • Raspberry pi robotics

  • Automate social media posts

  • Format and analyse data

  • Machine learning

  • Graphical user interfaces

  • Create a web server

  • Text-based or graphical games

  • Build a blockchain

This is a remote workshop. please ensure you have:

1. A computer & internet connection

2. Zoom installed:

- Meeting IDs will be sent via a calendar invite once you have registered for the workshop.

Zoom Waiting Room:

All attendees will be put into a Zoom Waiting Room before being admitted into the workshop.

If you are on the waitlist, you will be allowed into the workshop if a participant is unable to join within 10 minutes of the workshop commencing.

After 10 minutes, the waiting room will be closed and you will need to book another workshop.

What are Create & Make Workshops?

Fun, entry-level create and make workshops are designed for the beginner or those looking to get creative in an enjoyable, interactive environment. Learn about the technology and equipment by doing a project. Turn up, have a great time, and leave with new skills, a creation of your own making and some new friends.

Who can attend?

Open to all students and staff at the University of Auckland.

By registering for this event/workshop you grant the Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship full rights to use the images from any photography/video footage for publicity and education purposes. This may include (but is not limited to), the right to use them in their printed and online publicity, coursework presentations, social media, and press releases. If you do not wish to be photographed please inform an event organiser.
