This workshop introduces you to the three majors of the Bachelor of Commercial Music: MUSIC PRACTICE: includes musicianship, cross-genre performance using your instrument or musical interface of choice, computer-based production and composition techniques. MUSIC TECHNOLOGY: software and hardware development, electronics, and concepts for developing new musical interfaces. MUSIC INDUSTRY: artist development and management, label and distribution, music publishing, one-off and large-scale live events, and future industry trends.

Concept Design
Concept design is about visualising and developing the ideas behind film, animation, television, gaming, performance, or interactive experiences. In concept design you use traditional art forms like drawing and sculpting 3D models, as well as making digital plans and renders, to communicate your concepts for new objects, characters or environments.

Creative Technologies
Creative Technologies pathway in the Creative Media Production degree prepares students for rapidly evolving digital and online platforms. Students who study Creative Technologies will learn creative coding, hardware development, data visualization, and how to build cross-platform web applications using cutting-edge technologies. This workshop will give you a taster of what this course is all about!

Share Creative Arts Immersion Day - Monday 8th July 2019

Event Details

Immersion Day is a one-day intensive workshop in a specialist subject area across all creative arts programmes including: Design, Fine Arts, Commercial Music and Creative Media Production. This is your opportunity to experience what a course in your selected subject will be like in your first year. You will be making, creating and learning about what it is like to study at Massey. After Immersion day, participants will receive a certificate of completion. You also have the option to take part in a portfolio pre-approval session (for design and fine arts) or to tour university accommodation at the end of the day. This event is open to current Year 13 students and adults looking to return to study.

Registrations close 3rd July or when places are full.

 

Schedule:

9.00am - 9.30am - Registration / Check in

9.30am - Welcome

10.00am - Workshops start

12 noon - Lunch (provided)

1pm - Workshops continue

2.45pm - Wrap up

3.15pm - 4.30pm - Accommodation tours and Portfolio Reviews / Pre approvals*

4.30pm - End of day

* Portfolio pre-approval timings may be extended depending on demand.
