Event description
Making sense of cancer clinical trials research – a critical appraisal workshop for oncology and haematology advanced trainees

About this Event

The New Zealand Critical Appraisal Workshop has been developed to help early career researchers and trainees assess the trustworthiness, relevance and results of published papers so that they are able to decide if the results are believable and useful. Participants will be able to utilise this knowledge not only in the research setting, but in everyday treatment decisions in clinical practice.

This one day workshop is open to advanced trainees and fellows in medical oncology, radiation oncology, haematology, palliative care and surgical oncology.

Yours collaboratively,

Dr Nicky Lawrence – Workshop Convenor, Auckland City Hospital & CTNZ

Dr Michelle Wilson – Medical Oncologist, Auckland City Hospital

Professor Michael Findlay – Medical Oncologist, CTNZ

Dr Matthew Strother – Medical Oncologist and Pharmacologist, Canterbury Regional Cancer & Haematology Service

A/Professor Katrina Sharples – Biostatistician, University of Otago
