About this Event

CrossOver.

  • A point or place to surrender your life to the Cross.
  • A point or place to learn ways to crossover into the person God created you to be.

Central Vineyard Church is pleased to host Lisa and Charlton Lentz, Leaders of Celebrate Recovery in Nashville, Tennessee, USA, for CrossOver Celebrate Recovery Conference 2020. At this two-day conference you will workshop, learn about and begin to surrender your hurts, habits or hang-ups in a safe environment as you walk into a deeper experience of discipleship with God and others. Sessions will include teachings and workshops on:

  • Introduction to the Celebrate Recovery 12 Step Program;
  • Identification of issues that underpin hurts, habits and hang-ups (including co-dependency, emotional sobriety, vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue);
  • Selected Bible teachings that help you to align your recovery journey with scripture;
  • ‘Men’s Only’ Session (including topics on encouragement/discipleship of men, common addictions men face, sexual and conflict fantasy, hero and victim mentality);
  • ‘Women’s Only’ Session (including topics on encouragement/discipleship of women, common addictions women face, thought-life and conflict fantasy, the co-dependency triangle of relating);
  • Celebrate Recovery Tool Kit Session to equip participants with practices to assist in their daily recovery journey; and
  • Session on Serenity: How to spot it, walk towards it and, eventually, live in it.

This conference is for anyone who would like to work their own recovery or are already working their own recovery.

Facilitators

Lisa & Charlton Lentz

Lisa started her career developing alternative education programs with at risk populations in Washington DC. She left the work world to homeschooled for 16 years. More recently, Lisa's work is with Preston Taylor Ministries, a Christ centred after-school and mentoring ministry for under resourced youth in urban downtown Nashville. Lisa is the Director of Connectedness, helping to create a safe haven for youth with after-school programs, connecting kids to caring adults through mentorship, and build partnerships with other community service organisations. This is her 7th year with PTM.

Charlton has been in the wealth management field for 25 years, most recently with One Trusted Advisor for 11 years. Charlton focuses on overseeing the investment platform and advising clients. Charlton's served on the national board of CBMC, Connecting Business Men to Christ for 8 years and lead local teams for many years in the Northern VA and Washington DC area as well as Nashville. Within that ministry, he's had the privilege of being discipled as well as disciplining other men.

Their recovery journey started 7 years ago walking into a Celebrate Recovery in Franklin, Tennessee. That experience lead them to want to start a Celebrate Recovery in their home church at Christ Pres in Nashville. In the last 6 years, Charlton's discipleship experience transitioned to men's sponsorship through Celebrate Recovery. After being lead through a step study, Charlton and Lisa became Ministry Leaders at their home church , leading step studies, attending National Conferences and giving their testimonies at other CRs.

Charlton and Lisa live in Nashville. After downsizing to be closer to the families they serve, they are members of Parks Church in The Nations neighbourhood of Nashville, TN. They have 3 children Dalton, Eric and Virginia. Charlton and Lisa Lentz celebrated 30 of marriage this year by walking the El Camino in Spain.
