The National Cyber Policy Office (NCPO) leads and coordinates the development and implementation of New Zealand’s cyber security policy. Paul has led the NCPO since it was established in July 2012.
Prior to his present role, Paul was a career diplomat, most recently serving as Deputy Head of Mission in Brussels from 2008 to 2012. Paul was previously Deputy Director of the International Security and Disarmament Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Paul also worked overseas in roles in Honiara, Beijing and Taipei. Paul has also worked in the Pacific, United Nations and Human Rights, and Development divisions of MFAT in Wellington.
Mandy Simpson has recently been appointed Chief Executive at Wellington based consultancy Cyber Toa, helping companies who handle sensitive financial or personal data to dramatically improve their cyber security. She has deep capital markets expertise, including as Chief Operating Officer at NZX, where she has been an advocate for the development of blockchain technology for financial markets. Prior to that she was Chief Financial Officer for technology company Fronde. Mandy has been in New Zealand for ten years, arriving from the UK where she worked in financial investigation and surveillance roles for Deloitte and the London Stock Exchange. Mandy is on the Board of NZTech, is an active investor in early stage companies and an advisory board member at BraveNewCoin, a Queenstown based company providing digital currency news and insights. Mandy has a law degree from Cambridge University. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and a member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors.
Kate Pearce is a Senior Security Consultant for Cisco. She has spoken at many security conferences and has recently been awarded the iSANZ’s Best International Superstar. Her true loves are application security enablement, complex systems security, and cross-discipline security analogues.
